Zeliangrong Catholic Body Urges Practical Faith and Community Unity in Nagaland

DIMAPUR — In an effort to bridge the gap between spiritual profession and daily conduct, the Zeliangrong Catholic Association of Nagaland (ZCAN) successfully hosted an intensive one-day seminar at St. Peter’s Church in Nchangram village, situated within the SFS Parish Tening administrative area of the Peren district.
This regional gathering was organized to address contemporary moral challenges and encourage believers to reflect deeply on how their religious convictions influence their societal roles. The discourse centered on the provocative central theme, “We Are Catholics, But Does Our Faith Change the Way We Live?”, prompting attendees to evaluate their personal contributions to community development and ethical governance.
According to reports published by the Nagaland Post, local church leaders and community elders underscored the importance of translating religious teachings into tangible acts of service and compassion. Speakers during the sessions noted that true spiritual growth must manifest through strengthened social bonds, mutual support, and active participation in local welfare initiatives.
Looking ahead, organizers plan to implement follow-up grassroots programs across various parishes in the Peren district to sustain the momentum generated by the seminar. These upcoming initiatives aim to empower youth and families to maintain ethical standards and foster enduring unity throughout the Zeliangrong community.
