Sigma Unveils FP2: The Next Generation of Ultra-Compact Full-Frame Imaging

Tokyo-based manufacturer Sigma Corporation has officially unveiled the FP2, a compact full-frame mirrorless camera designed to succeed the original fp model that launched seven years ago as the smallest and lightest device in its class.
Building upon the minimalist design philosophy of its predecessor, the new iteration retains a remarkably small physical footprint while introducing critical hardware enhancements. Most notably, the device features a revised sensor architecture and a long-awaited articulated display screen, rectifying prominent ergonomic limitations cited by photographers and videographers in the original version.
According to industry reports by technology publication The Verge, the decision to maintain the ultra-portable chassis while upgrading internal components positions the device uniquely against larger, heavier competing systems in the creator economy.
Industry analysts expect the FP2 to capture significant market share among mobile filmmakers and street photographers when it officially ships, potentially prompting rival camera manufacturers to reevaluate their own compact full-frame product roadmaps.
